Movie snobbery from someone who has no business being a movie snob
The number one movie in the United States this weekend was “Big Momma’s House 2,” taking in an estimated $28 million. As an adult, I’ve paid money to see garbage like “Aeon Flux,” “Deuce Bigalow,” “The Mod Squad,” and “Dude, Where’s My Car,” and yet I feel strangely superior to those who went to see “Big Momma’s House 2.”
Truth be told, the only reason I didn’t see it this weekend is because I didn’t see the first one. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to follow the sequel.
