90s in 90 Days #54-Urge Overkill mixtape

“Saturation” was an important release–on paper, at least–to the burgeoning Chicago “scene” in the early 90s.  While “Chicago Rocked” offers a deep dive into that album (and the follow-up, “Exit the Dragon”), I wanted to at least mention Urge in 90s in 90s Days.
For the curious or nostalgic, here are 10 songs that are “must owns” by the band:
The Break
(Now That’s) The Barclords
Bottle of Fur
Faroutski
Sister Havana
Goodbye to Guyville
The Kids are Insane
Take Me
The Candidate
Positive Bleeding
Urge fans…what did I miss?  What would you add?  Delete?

90s in 90 Days

Over the course of 90 days (not consecutive, though I’ll try), I’ll be offering up a capsule look at something about Chicago music from the 90s.  It could be a radio memory.  Thoughts on a song, show, band, or album.  Maybe a review aided by hindsight.  Whatever it is, it’ll be original content just for this site, and not found in my book.
