90s in 90 Days #69: Disturbed

90s in 90 Days #69-Disturbed

David Draiman of Disturbed remembers the Chicago scene as being difficult for the band to penetrate in the late 90s.  He commented during a phone interview, “You know very well exactly what the scene was like back then. It was dominated by bands like the Pumpkins and Local H. Everything had a very indie rock kind of flair to it. We were always viewed as this scary metal band who didn’t really have a place.”

90s in 90 Days

Over the course of 90 days (not consecutive, though I’ll try), I’ll be offering up a capsule look at something about Chicago music from the 90s.  It could be a radio memory.  Thoughts on a song, show, band, or album.  Maybe a review aided by hindsight.  Whatever it is, it’ll be original content just for this site, and not found in my book.
