A few weeks back, I got an invite to talk about concerts and music on WGN-TV’s midday show. I happily accepted, despite the fact that I shudder at the thought of seeing myself in HD. I’ve spent my entire career celebrating the faceless, unshaven, anonymity of radio.
I’ll be on the air for two minutes. That’s it. And yet, I’ve given tomorrow’s visit the same level of focus and concern as a hosting stint on “SNL.” The thought of doing T.V. is nerve-racking. If I don’ tvomit or spontaneously evacuate my bowels while on camera, tomorrow’s going to be a total victory. Oh, and I’d like to meet Tom Skilling, too.
Tune in at 11 a.m. I’ll be the guy with the 5 o’clock shadow.
